does anyone else get menstural cramps like i do?

so I get extremely bad menstrual cramps, My mother says its normal, but she doesn't experience the same pain I do, I have horrendous cramps, vomiting, fever and when I try to go to lectures or outside in general, I get dizzy and once I passed out in a shopping mall. I get a prescription of  ibuprofen(spelling) and take it every 4 hours and usually sleep on it... But I feel like it is ruining my life, 5 days out of every month I spend my days in bed with a hot water bottle and a bottle of pills crying myself to sleep it hurts that much. And all my doctors recommend is that I take my pills and sleep... not Fun.. but my new Dr told me to get a pap test and blood, embarrassing enough I've never had either one.. and he frigented me a bit about it, saying its to check for cancerous blah blah.. and my question is, is it normal? Am I just a big baby...? Have you heard of this or deal with it.. how do you overcome it.

Appreciate your time, please reply.

P.s I am 18, and I've had my period since I was 13, the pains progressively got worse at 14, nd been getting worse sence then. It's never fun to dread your period... Also I've tried 2 types of birth control, nothing change only made me cranky.

Well i am 19 and my doc wants to do a hysterectomy (yes i know im young but my fiance and i have been togwther almost 5 years and engaged 1 1/2) but thats why we are trying now and hoping we can have a baby before that needs to happen. Unfortunately insurance company wont cover fertility treats. until march 2013 but as soon as they do i am starting them and hoping they will work but as for the hysterectomy i am deff getting it done in the future once im done having kids cuz i deff dont want to deal with this the rest of my life. As for pain treatment im not too sure seeing as u said that the bc didnt work and thats what helped me bur i would think about getting another opinion from another doc and see what they say it cant hurt and may help in the end (and i say this from experience from my mom..she was told she was having heart and liver failure when she was 34 and she actually only had a kidney stone 0.o) so like i said i would deff suggest checking out another doc and seeing what they have to say.

I really appreciate your reply you have no idea ! My grandmother went through the same thing, and has told me that she was referred to get a hysterectomy when she was only 20... But she didn't go through with it and regrets it, and my great aunt who had similar problems did after she was finished having children at 28. But both women have 3 kids and a large number of miscarriages.. which frightens me. My grandmother was told she was never suppose to have kids, but she did. I am very scared. But I don't want this to paralyze me for 5 days out of the month. And having to take anymore trial pills. My doctor has given me many, many different solutions but some either disturb my mood and make me sleepy.

Hello! Its most deff not normal! U need to get to the docs as soon as possible. I used to get them and i found out that the reason was because every month when my body tried to ovulate that i wasnt actually ovulating and the eggs were getting stuck in my ovaries which were causing cysts that would swell and fill with fluid which caused the cramps. I got them constantly but at the time of my period every month i would be curled up im a ball balling my eyes out from pain. They put me on birth control and no longer had any probs. unfortunately i have been off bc for the past 9 months because my fiance and i are trying for a baby. So unfortunately the pain has come back but dont have a choice at this point. U deff need to go to the docs. Part of the reason we have been trying for a baby so long is cuz of this..no ovulation=no pregnancy=infertility. U need to get checked out as soon as possible before it gets worse. Mine is to the point where i cant get approved until march but come march my doc is putting me on fertility drugs so i can try n have a baby. Get checked! And if u have any questions feel free to adk me. And good luck!
