Was it a true menstral cylce or not?

My cycle was 7 days late then I had some pink discharge along with some light spotting (I can't remember ever having this before) as well.  Two days passed since I had the discharge and spotting then I got my cycle (at least I thought it was my cycle).  This cycle lasted for about 3 1/2 days (my normal cycles usually last for 4 days) but it wasn't like my normal cycle (the flow was lighter which variations in colors).  Now that it's ended I'm now experiencing spotting once more.  My question is was this truly a menstrual cycle or not?

Thank you so very much!  I've been debating on taking a HPT, mean while my husband has been asking me to take one.  Since I delivered a stillborn child in Dec of last year going through the motions of possibly being preggers again has sometimes had me on a roller coaster of emotions.  Once again thank you!

It doesn't sound as though it was. Have you recently had unprotected sex?  It could possibly be implantational bleeding. If you have had unprotected sex, try taking a HPT with FMU and seeing how it comes out.
