Update

Thank you guys for replying and urging me to go to the ER.I went up and they gave me a demerol shot. It helped so much but knocked me out big time! I live in a small town and there is only one ER Dr. on call on the weekends. There was a huge car wreck and I didn't get more that 2 min with the Dr. He felt my belly, asked me a few questions and then told the nurse to give me a shot and sent me home.
What I'm wondering is if the pain I'm experiancing is normal with PID? Or could I really be sick? I couldn't talk to the Dr at the hospital about any of this. He just rushed me out like I was waisting his time. when will PID clear up?
And another thing I'm worried about is the pain meds I'm on. They have me on 10 mg of oxycodone that lasts 8 hours and then have 5 mg of the same for breakthrough pain that I can take every 4 hours. For the past 2 years my sister has been fighting an addiction to these meds and a few other prescription narcotics. I have seen her suffer and almost die several times this past 2 years. I know I am probably being paroniod, but how easy is it to get addicted to these meds? I don't take any more than what is prescribed but I have to be on them 24/7. I am in so much pain. And even with the 10 mg the pain is still horrible. I'm afraid that I'm going to get addicted like my sister. How long does it take? I just can't risk the possibility of that happening. I'm afraid that the longer I am on these the easier it is to become addicted. I'm afraid to tell my Dr. that the pain is too much to handle even with the 10 mg and that he will up my dose even more. help

My best advice to you would be go see ur gyn or family dr asap. i know PID can be painful but if u are concerned about becoming addicted to meds maybe there is something less addictive they can give you.

i agree completely with who_dis.  you should not need pain meds for daily life!  your gyn needs to get to the bottom of what's causing you so much pain and take it from there.  good luck :)

I know that there was some stuff going on last week, but I thought that was all resolved. Who has upset you? I guess I should go back and read all the posts again.
