Upper stomach pain

I have been having bad upper stomach pains lately...especially after i eat.  I thought that it might be from stress but I am not positive.  It hurts below my rib cage and is tender when pushed on.  Is there something that will help this?  Is it digestion or more muscle craps?  I have been drinking ginger tea but that doesn't seem to help.
Thanks you.

I had my gall bladder removed having the same symptoms your are decribing, but stomache problems can be a lot of things try an OTC medication like mylanta to see if maybe you have an ulcer, also with Gall Bladder disease you sometimes have pain in your shoulder if the Mylanta doesn't help then it's time to see a Dr stomache probles should never be ignored, Best of luck
