VERY LONG MENSTRUAL CYCLES, COULD THEY BE NORMAL TO SOME LADIES?

I HAVEN'T HAD MY MENSTRUAL CYCLE FOR ABOUT 82 DAYS NOW. I KNOW THIS MUST SOUND STUPID TO SOME WOMEN BUT THROUGHOUT MY WHOLE "MENSTRUAL AGES" I HAVE HAD A VERY LATE CYCLE AND AFTER ABOUT 86 DAYS THEN I'LL USUALLY START. COULD THIS JUST BE HOW MY BODY IS OR COULD THIS BE VERY WRONG? I HAVE SPOLE WITH MY DR AND IT HAS BEEN CONFIRMED THAT I HAVE A CYST IN MY OVARIES, BUT WHEN I DO START EVERTHING IS NORMAL, ( NO BAD ODORS, COLORED BLOOD, ETC..) NOW MY HUSBAND AND I ARE TRYING TO START A FAMILY AND HAVE YET TO BE SUCCESSFUL, I HAVEN'T TALKED THIS OVER W/ HIM YET BUT I WONDER IF MY IRREGULAR PERIODS COULD BE RESULTING IN NO PREGNANCY? SO I GUESS TWO QUESTIONS, 1 = CAN WOMEN HAVE LONG MENSTRUAL CYCLES? AND 2 = COULD IRREGULAR PERIODS RESULT IN NO PREGNANCY? SORRY FOR MY IGNORANCE, IT WAS NEVER AN ISSUE UNTIL WE  WANTED A BABY..

Maybe only one of your ovaries is functioning, due to the cysts. That way, you'd have every other cycle, so 6/year. If that's the case, conception should still be possible when it is the functioning ovary's turn to release an egg. I hope for your sake, that is the case. good luck w/ everything.

Now that you and DH are TTC, you need to talk to your GYN.  With such irregular cycles it is going to be difficult to determine when and if you are Oing.  Since you know that you have a cyst, I'd bet that it interferes with Oing.  Talk to your GYN to see what your choices are.  I'm not familiar enough with ovarian cysts, but I'm sure there are a lot of things that can be done to get your cycle regular.  Best of luck to you.

What everyone said above you should get checked and see if you could get on a regular schedule with ur period. The cyst might be a reason but if its not maybe your just not having sex at the right time. You should get an ovulate predictor kit to see exactly when you ovulate since it would be hard for you to find out since you don't have a regular period and you can also use a basal thermometer to keep track of your temperature for a change www.fertilityfriend.com has a chart for you to chart it and it tells you when you are ovulating. Hope this helped you
