No. Ovulation is what actually starts a period. When a girl starts her very first period, she's already ovulated once and that's what actually causes you to bleed. It's because the egg remained unfertilized and the body sheds the lining in the uterus. So technically, you could ovulate and then get pregnant and never get a period. You see it often when women who miscarry TTC right away.
but if i havent had a period in 2 years.. can i still get pregnant? i thought the period came before ovulation? lol
Hmmm. Light pink sounds more like implantation bleeding to me, but who knows? After not having had a period for so long, maybe it really is the beginning of your period and it will get darker in the next day or two. If you're unsure in a couple of days, you could probably do a home pregnancy test. The logic being that, if an embryo is implanting now, the level of HCG should be enough in a couple of days to register at least a faint line on a home test. Not sure if you're wanting to conceive again or not. But either way good luck! I hope it works out how you want it to! :)
