Vaginal Discharge

Last month I had my normal period, but this month instead of my period I have a brown discharge with very minimal menstrual bleeding? Its been a week now? There is not a whole lot of brown discharge. I'm a lesbian so I know I'm not pregnant. A day or two before I had intercourse and bled a little. There is no odor, no burning or itching, no stomach pains or cramps? Could this be the beginnings of a yeast infection or is this just old blood flushing its way out? I've had brown discharge before, but not for this long of a time. Should I wait it out and see if it stops within a few more days?

I'm 26 years old, the sex involved no toys, only the insertion of fingers.

Your age is ... ?  The kind of sex was ... ?  Was your last cycle characterized by any pain in the ovaries when you ovulated?

I'm thinking either some kind of perimenopausal thing, something that irritated the cervix, or an ovarian cyst that will make the following period odd.  I'd watch and wait another few days and nothing changes, go see your gyno.
