Vaginal tears/fissures

I noticed in the last post about vaginal tears that many people who were experiencing vaginal tears were trying to find other commonalities in symptoms/nutrition/stress levels/etc. in an attempt to solve this mystery.  It seems logical that dryness could cause tearing.  In my own research I came across something called Sj

In June a thread ran on vaginal and anal tearing/fissures. I read everyone's comments. I have been suffering from vaginal tears/slices above the clitoris in the folds for years. They would last 4 days, barely heal, and then another one. I was desperate! One comment was hydrocortisone cream. I had some on hand. I tried it. It worked. It doesn't cure it, it will still come back, but it actually closes overnight. A miracle to me. I only use it now when it feels or looks like a split is coming, and it goes away. Someone said since the hydrocortisone cream was helping, that it must be some kind of bacteria.  I don't know, but saves your suffering. TRY IT! I don't believe mine had anything to do with lichen sclerosus, vulvar vestibulitis and all of the other ones, which scares you to death. PS The doctor doesn't know either.

Here's a copy of what I posted on the Vaginal Lesions forum:

I'm sooo glad I'm not alone..I too have seen several doctors and had blood work done...but nobody knows what it is. My blood work shows signs of herpes 1, which everyone has from cold sores etc...I just went to the doctor again last week to discuss my blood work and to discuss the discomfort I have after sex. He said to show up immediately to the office when I notice the lesions so he can get a sample of it and run tests...but it's diffinitely hard because of my work schedule. I do agree that stress may be the cause of it. I have not noticed that it occurs more often before my period...I'm pretty irregular...I get my period every two months...but I'll keep a diary in case. To ease my pain...I apply A&D creme at night...it's like a cream you would apply a baby for diaper rash or something..and it seems to help for me. I've been dealing with this discomfort for the past 3 years...not all lesions but other problems like yeast, irritation, etc...I'm married and have had the same partner...and it's been hard on our relationship because I don't want sex as much because it hurts. I also get burning when I tinkle after sex...I try to run warm water down my vagina as I pee to ease the pain. But I'm glad I'm not alone...thanks for starting this thread. I'm a latina with light skin and brown eyes.

I also want to add that I've been off of BC for 1 year and the last BC I was on was Yasmin. The lesions come and go and when they do they appear on the same spot. Dr. also said not to clean area with perfumed soap and recommended ivory soap.

Yeah-these tears really suck-they cause excruciating pain upon urinating-and soap burns, when showering.  Sex can be very tedious when you have this problem.

I just started having the vaginal tears a little while ago and can't believe how painful they are.  I noticed that I am retaining a lot of water and am very sore in my ankles.  My fingers are swollen in the morning, but not sore.  If you have found out anything else about this please let me know!
