Vaginal thrush

Hi what is the cause/treatment of recurring vaginal thrush, i seem to be getting it on a regular basis and have been treating it with pessarys but i was wondering if there was something else i can do to stop it coming back.
i do not wear tight clothing and i wash using a mild soap every day.

Thank you in advance for your time.

Actually your mum was half right. You can use yoghurt up there to treat thrush. BUT it has to be the plain type, not the flavoured vanilla or anything with extra sugars added.
Oh and don't eat it after it's been up there! LOL!

You ask the cause of it. It is called Candida Albicans and it is in everyone. It can be set off by anti-biotics. If that is the case for you, then ask for a different brand next time. I suffer terribly with certain types of antibiotic but not others.

If you are sexually active, your partner may have it too, and you are both re-infecting each other. ( I have no idea if you are or not, just an idea)

Sometimes certain foods like strawberries can also set off a thrush attack. If you drink heavily, that can cause it too.
So there you go , a few options to think about.

Hmm,  my mum told me to use Yogurt.... I thought great will try it, however I umm applied it to my vagina, and ouchhhhhhh it burnttt. I said to my mum, you told me to use yogurt, she goes yes I did. I then told her it burnt like hell. she looked at me like i was crazy.. and then said " I told you to use it.. as in eat it!" .. silly me... Mum had a good laugh tho..
