Very unlikely but....

Hi all i am probably going to sound stupid i am pretty sure that this is not possible but..
i am on the birth control pill and have been for 3 months last month i skipped the sugar pills and went strait into the next pack skipping a period. well i am know into the third week of this pill pack and will start the sugar pills on sunday. yesterday i started to spot VERY light only when i whiped and didnt need a pantyliner. it lasted for only a day, i have also been crampy today and yesterday. My hugh fear is that i am going to end up preg while on the pill i was on it for a year after my daugther was born and never had any problems with it but for some reason i am more scared this time around i have also been tired and by bbs hurt. could i possibly be pregnant . I know the only was that i will know for sure is to test but i want to know if there is anyone on here that got preg on the pill and what happened before they knew for sure. Thank you all some much in advance.~Amanda

I know opinions vary on the issue on skipping the "suger" pills in order to skip a period and my daughter was instructed to do this by one doc due to excessive bleeding but then another Doc said NOT to do that. I personally feel that unless instructed by a Physician, you should take them as directed. The body has a period for a reason, and when you mess with it, it tends to try to correct itself.
You are probably just experiencing your body trying to straighten this all out and pg is doubtful.

If you missed one day, you should have doubled up the following day.  If you didn't, it screwed with whole concept of birth control and probably messed w/ your cycle.  It is possible to get pregnant on the pill, especially if not taken correctly.  It doesn't really matter whether or not you take it the same time everyday but it does matter to remember to take it.  Hope it all works in your favor.

When you forgot a day, did you double-up and take 2 pills the next day?  Or just the missed pill only?

I need some clarification:  You said you didnt take the sugar pill just went straight to a new pack, skipping a period.  Does that mean that on the 21st day/pill you waited 7 days just not taking the sugar pills, or you from day/pill 21 to taking a new packet day1/pill1 and that's why you missed your period?  Or am I totally off.  Please let me know.  If I'm right, and you did this then you screwed up your whole cycle, which might be why your boobs hurt, and you missed a period and are spotting.  Your cycle just had to rewrite itself.  Let me know if I'm right about what you did.
