WHY ARE SO MANY MOTHER IN LAWS HATED?

Why do so many daughter-in-laws hate their mother-in-laws?  It's very sad to read so many hate-hate relationships.
I, for one, am a good mil.  My daughter-in-law considers me a best friend and says she is blessed to have me in her life.  She has said that I'm better than her own mother was to her.    I always have her best interest at heart and have always supported her, yet let her be her self too.  I would love to read more about good mils for a change.  I know that they exist, so why don't we hear more about them?  Let's hear some happy mil/dil stories,ok?  Thanks.   Leeann

i have been married a little over 5 months and are living with my husband and his mother. It is hell living with them and i am getting very depressed. it seems that my family is tired of hearing my problems and i need somewhere to vent! This lady does anything to manipulate my husband. Recently, she takes off to the casinos all day alone on the bus because my husband and i do things without her for the day. she gets upset and told him that she will be leaving all day to the casinos alone if he leaves alone with me all day and leaves her. this second time around that she left the little rat left her purse and cellphone behind so that she could worry by husband so now he refuses to go anywhere alone with me and thinks i start arguments. i dont know where else to turn and this whole situation is hurting me alot. can anyone give me advise i dont know how to convince my husband that what she is doing is wrong.

MY RECENT EX HIS MOTHER LIKED ME BUT WHEN I WANT TO TALK TO HER HE DOESN'T WANT ME TO TALK TO HER IDK WHY. I NEVER GOT THE CHANCE TO REALLY GET TO KNOW HER AND I FOR ONE WISH THAT I HAD A MIL THAT WOULD EXCEPT ME FOR ME AND NOT TO BE MEAN BUT THEY JUST DIDN'T LIKE ME.
