Gallstone in Bile duct
I am 5 months postpartum and received a call from my Gastro today saying they saw a stone in my bile duct only one that was 3mm very small. i have an endoscope scheduled for a couple weeks. The dr said if we do the scope and dont find anything then he will send me to a Surgeon for a gallbladder removal? I was confused my that comment. Woudl a surgeon remove a gallbladder for one small stone.
The nurse said there is also no sludge or anything just the stones.

If the stones are not in the bile duct but in the gall bladder and there is not much pain, then you can wait till delivery. Cholecystectomy (removal of gall bladder) is not an emergency in that cae.

Dr. nurse called back and said i was giving the wrong info the stones are not in my bile duct but in my gallbladder and are small and she cant tell me how many. But she is not worried about it and if they are not causing alot of pain it is not a big deal .
