Tonsil stones. They are gross and really stink. Nothing you can do about it, but every now and then take the handle of your toothbrush or a cotton swab and press on your tonsils to get them out.

They are called tonsilths they are decayed food that collects in the crypts of your tonsils.  I had them for years most doctors will tell you it is nothing but I have to disagree. Every time my throat would start to hurt I would end up with an overall achy body and it would get me down for weeks at a time.  I finally starting using a water pic and blasting them out every couple weeks just so I could get a break from being sick and run down.  For years I saw many doctors until one day I found an ENT that listened to me and we together decided the best thing for me was to remove the tonsils and I have been literally pain free, no more run down feeling either and of course the sore throats are no more.  You have to be persistent in a correct diagnosis and treatment if one Dr tells you it is nothing FIND another someone will help you...  Not all Dr's care about your overall health just the mighty DOLLAR but when you do find one that does he/she will change your life.  I ended up writing thank you letters to him and the insurance companies for my new lease on life!!!  I am still happy with the surgery and everything that came with it. I had mine 7 months ago and I would do it again in a heartbeat the way I feel right now!
