Group A Strep Vaginitis

I was wondering if anyone is in the same situation as me.
I'm 21 years old and have not been enjoying sex with my boyfriend for the past few years. I'm always in pain during sex and am left with a burning sensation that makes me not want to do it anymore. At first the doctors thought it was down to my antidepressants, so I came off them with no difference.

After going back and forth to the GPs for about two years, they finally decided to take me seriously. One doctor found that I have Group A Strep present in my vaginal swabs, which he told me was quite rare but there are some articles online that show that other women who have had this have had the same symptoms as me.

We tried a 10 day course of antibiotics (penicillin) with no success. We then treated my boyfriend (who was negative but just in case) and me again with another 10 day course. I also recieved vaginal cream for 7 days. I was hopeful, but again the pain was still there and now i'm feeling very fed up and my doctor has just dismissed the entire situation.

What can I do? I have been googling and stressing now because Strep A can become invasive and i'm scared its going to affect me in later life, for example when I want to have children in the future.

Here is a link to one of the articles my doctor told me to have a read of: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21336834
