Miscarriage after IUD pregnancy followed by a d/c to remove coil hcg concentrat

Hi,

I had a m/c on 17th sept with iud preg and i had d/c to remove rest of waste and iud on 21st sept... i was seven weeks pregnant and i just wondered if anyone could tell me how long hcg hangs around for the reason im asking is that i have tested positve 2 times with clearblue 25hcg tests today and neg with a predictor(UK) test which apparently measures 5ohcg does this mean i am newly pregnant and havent reached 50hcg or am still coming down from m/c hcg and am now under 50hcg so only positive on the clearblue (i think i ovulated on 1st oct but have read mixed things on internet about false positives on ostix after m/c) but on another site 12 dpo shows bout 25hcg.. cant get docs appt till middle next week so any imput would be grateful to put my mind at rest for w/e and half of next week

i had a m/c on july 1 and by july 31st i was pregnant again, so i think once the m/c is over it's pretty much gone. so i would say your chances of this being + is good. not to many false + out there. good luck to you.

Hard to say.  Usually after a m/c is complete the doc will do a blood test shortly thereafter for just that reason--to be sure your level is close to zero.  That way there isn't any confusion about lingering HCG (can happen) vs a new pregnancy.

You'll probably just have to wait it out until next week when you'll no doubt get blood tests and an ultrasound.  I'm hoping for good news!  Keep us posted.
