Why does my 11 year old daughter get a cold 2 days before her period?

My 11 year old daughter started her period -first time in August (1st week of school )
Since her first period - every month she gets a cold 2 days before her period starts & her cold lasts for about 4 days.
Before August & before her 1st ever period - every month for about a year she was getting a cold - where she would cough all day long & then at night time she would not cough one single time. This happened every day & every night. We took her to an allergy doctor who was totally stumped by this. Her 1st trip to the allergy Doctor she had her period & had her cold / coughing spell. Te Allergy Doctor said if she had asthma her symptoms would be the opposite
( coughing at night time while laying flat & better in the daytime.) But her symptoms were totally the OPPOSITE . He was totally baffled & could not figure out what was causing her symptoms. My daughter got a cold 2 days ago & today- this afternoon she started her period. My daughter is the one who figured out that every month 2 days before her period she comes down with a cold & a cough. I went on line & saw so many females with the same symptoms.
My daughters colds &  periods ARE LINKED TOGETHER.
We / my daughter has solved 1/2 of the mystery. But what causes her to get a cold 2 days before her period starts every single month ???????  For a year before her 1st period started - she was getting a cold / coughing spell every single month. That was why we took her to the 1st Allergy Doctors appt.
I'm wondering if ear period would have started over summer break - if she HAD bee having her period ( since her periods had not started yet for the 1st time ( had she had periods over summer break - they would have more then likely happened each month when she was getting her colds/ coughing spells over summer break.
But she had never had her very 1st period yet over summer break - until her period started in August.
