Well, maybe we are just wording it differently.  You 'ovulate' for 24 to 36 hours---  that is the period of time the egg is available.  Then once that is over, the egg is gone.  But once that 24 to 36 hour period is over, the egg isn't there to be fertilized.

However, a rare women does have a second ovulation . . .   so most doctors will tell you that there is NO safe time to have unprotected sex during our cycles.

But yes, the difficulty is predicting that ovulation window (which is what I call it).  If you think it is day 14 into 15 and then believe you are safe, then on days 17, you have sex when you are REALLY ovulating.  You have a problem.  But in general, once the ovulation window is closed, pregnancy does not occur.

I apologize if you find my information incorrect. I was informed that you can get pregnant up to a day after ovulation as the egg lasts for 24hours-- hence the theoretical statement. Likely? No. Possible? Yes. If the days are off, then there could be an issue.

Um, why do you say this?  ONLY if you have a second, very rare ovulation would this happen. Otherwise you can not get pregnant after you ovulate.   But typically you have ONE egg a cycle and once it is gone, you CAN NOT get pregnant.  the issue is knowing precisely when that egg is there.  That's how most accidental pregnancies happen.  luck tot he poster

Theoretically, you can still become pregnant a few days after ovulation if you actually had sex. I don't think it's likely. You should be safe.

I do agree with special mom that you definition of sex sounds pretty open.

Hi there and welcome.  Well, I'm a little confused.  Did you have vaginal sex or what do you mean by he 'didn't put his personal thing on my parts"??
