Like many of you, I have had recurrent vaginal discomfort for a long time now (since July). I have been to the gyno many times and have been treated for everything from gonorrhea to bacterial infections. FYI- I was first diagnosed with a bacterial infection, then gonorrhea, then a bacterial infection again, and now a yeast infection. It is my firm belief that I had a false positive test result for the gonorrhea b/c I had my BF tested 2 times at different places and he was negative both times and even if he had it originally and got treated, we have had sex alot since and I think I would have given it back to him. also, the med. that my gyno gave me for it did nothing to take away the symptoms that I have had and am still having. The symptoms I am having are very slight burning with urination, clear/milky white thin discharge with no odor, and intense vaginal burning during sex only. I have no idea why a yeast infection would not have been detected until now, but aparently I have one. I didn't know I did b/c I do not have the thick clumpy discharge.
Now for my question... 2 days ago I took the fluconazole (1 dose) oral medication for the yeast infection. I feel like ever since I took it, I have a slight itchiness (its not constant though) and my discharge has been thicker but still not clumpy. Is that a normal reaction when you take yeast infection med? Couuld that be an indication that I really did have one and now the medication is clearing it out of my symptom?
Lastly, I have seen commericials for repHresh. Has anyone tried it? It supposedly maintains the pH level.
