I would suggest that you get it diagnosed by a dr before you try and self-medicate. There could be something you are over-looking and perhaps you need antibiotics above anything else. I would not delay. Better to be safe than sorry even if he confirms your original diagnosis - one should never self-diagnose and then self-medicate without getting professional advice! Good luck!

How long do you have till AF?  I notice that sometimes when I have a yeast infection or bv that my period kind of helps everything and clears it up.  I would use the monistat until your period starts and then hopefully that will help with it.  Make sure if you use tampons that you use the unscented ones because the scented ones can cause imbalance in the normal vaginal flora which leads to yeast infections and bv.

if you want, you can try a home remedy. get some plain yogurt, place it in a something like a glove (the finger part) and freeze it so makes a bullet shape. Insert and wear a panty liner so it doesn't leak all over you.  I tried this once after browsing some sites and forums and it works.  this is because the "good bacteria" that is in the yogurt competes w/the "bad bacteria" of the vagina.  it eventually uses up all of the "bad bacteria's" food source and therefore starves it to death. i wasn't into taking any extra medication that i didn't need too and did it for about 4-5 days, twice a day.

Well I would say to ask for a perscription for Diflucan, you only take 1 pill and it will clear up.  BUT im sure that your doctor will want to see you.  Doctors will rarely perscribe meds over the phone unless they are very familiar with you, and you past.  My first choice would be to go and buy some Monistat, I have used it before and its very effective, the only downside is you have to use it for a minimum of 5 days.  (it could be kind of messy) so maybe you would feel comfortable wearing a pantyliner when you use it.  It can leak out.  So I hoped this helped... good luck.

You can call your doctor and ask for a prescription for diflucan (a pill you take once).  Or you can go to the drug store and pick up a Monistat 5 or 7day (I've heard the 1 and 3 day usually don't work).  While your at the drug store, you can ask the pharmacist if it will interfere with whatever your taking.  They are usually more knowledgable about this than doctors.
