Hello,
From the symptoms it looks like you have bacterial vaginosis. It is caused by a change in the type of bacteria found in the vagina. Normally, bacteria belonging mostly to the Lactobacillus family live harmlessly in the vagina and produce chemicals that keep the vagina mildly acidic.
In addition to unpleasant "fishy" vaginal odor, thin white or yellowish discharge from vagina may also be present. Diagnosis can be confirmed after pelvic examination and microscopic examination of the vaginal discharge.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
You probably have a bacterial infection. Go back to the doctor and ask specifically if you have bacterial vaginosis, ask to be swabbed to be sure, don't just let him or her guess. Then take the antibiotics if they are prescribed, and ask that your husband also take the same ones in the same time period, to avoid passing the bacteria back and forth.
