my daughter-in-law is 5weeks 2 days pregnant, today she started cramping and bleeding, she can't get into the dr. till next thurs....had a miscarriage a couple of months ago.....anyone experience this???? could this happen, and still be pregnant??
Could bleeding and cramping happen and still be pregnant? Well, the bleeding and cramping usually means that she's not pregnant anymore.
Bleeding, as you know, you're a mother, just dosnt happen for any given reason. She needs to go to a hospital, not waite around for next Thursdays appointment.
Please make sure she gets to a doctor ASAP. If she gets checked out she may still be able to do something to save her baby. Maybe she needs to be on bedrest? Cramping and bleeding together is not a good sign though.
just because shes bleeding and having cramps does not mean she is not pregnant that is for a doctor to examine and determine. we dont no the circumstances like how bad the bleeding and cramping really is could be a twin loss could be absolutly anything dont scare the poor women nobody on here can really tell somebody over the inet what there problem is maybe just give them some advice best of luck to this lady anyway.
I do believe you misunderstood me. Ofcourse I wasnt saying that she isnt pregnant. What I said was that the bleeding and cramping usually means that she's not pregnant anymore. Meaning, possible miscarrage (miscarriage). I didnt state it as a fact.. I said 'usually'. Not every single case.
I was not telling her what the problem is, I'm not in the position to, Its clear that a doctor is needed. And thats what I said too.
i would go to the er or dr. too, however if she is having a m/c
there is nothing that can be done. but they could run some tests and do an ultrasound to see if she is still p/g or if she is in fact having a m/c.
yes, jenni i knew what you meant. its just so hard when people get so emotionally attached/involved "ya know?" you were merely "suggesting" that this bleeding and cramping was not a good sign and usually means a miscarriage. i too would suggest she go to the er or dr. asap before her next appt. because those symptoms are not usually conducive to a healthy pregnancy and sooo hard on a forum to give this type of advice. i hope it all works out!!
I believe that Jenni was just trying to convey the seriousness of the situation so that this lady didn't sit around in pain and bleeding until Thursday. She asked the question and sugarcoating the answer is simply not always in the best interest of the poster. She NEEDS to get to the E.R. Jenni was nice, but didn't sugarcoat the truth, I believe in hopes that this woman would get help for her daughter ASAP. No we are not doctors, but common sense is common sense. And the fact of the matter is, bleeding and cramping are NOT normal and it is a sign that the pregnancy is at risk. The sooner she gets medical attention, the better her chances are of saving the pregnancy and protecting herself from hemorrhage, infection etc.. The truth is what it is.. Like it or not. Why do you have to be so eager to jump down her throat?? Not everything has to be a fight. She asked you to let it go, so LET IT GO!
the bleeding and cramping can either be signs of miscarriage or of hormonal imbalance. She does need to go see her doctor now, or go see the E.R. If it isn't a miscarriage, they will provide her with a prescription for a hormone pill, or keep her overnight for observation. Tests they may run, depending on how far through the pregnancy she may be will be anything from hormone tests to ultrasounds. when she goes, she should expect alot of blood tests, some fetal monitoring, and a long wait. they might not be able to immediately tell her anything, they may tell her its nothing and not to worry. but just to be on the safe side, by all means, take her in, even if you have to drag her there kicking and screaming.
As for the arguments...please spare us the drama, its not about who wants to point fingers at who....its about helping to ease fears or give advice. i dont know about everyone else, but i certainly don't want to read bickering.
I am 6 weeks pregnant and i started spotting brown discharge on friday, then i started having cramps very mild nothing un berable and then the brown turned to red and then i went to the er on friday night and they did a regular ultrasound and a vaginal ultrasound. They said the same thing that my doctor said when i was experiencing cramps with no bleeding that i have a gestational sac and i am measuring 6 weeks there is no heartbeat and no sign on a fetus, but it is too early for that. So the er did blood work to check my hormone levels and they were at 12,000 high but not high enough considering on sunday (5 days prior) was at 9,000. So they sent me home still bleeding and cramping saying it may be a blighted ovum but i need to make an appointment with my obgyn. So i called and they couldnt get me in until today and all they did was tell me that there is nothing i can do or nothing they can do if this is a miscarriage and they took blood to check the hcg levels and said they will call me tomorrow to see where im at. It has been 5 days and i have been bleeding with clots and cramping down my legs back and lower abdomen. Im not sure if this is a miscarriage although these are all the signs of one but im not sure if i should get a second opinion or wait until tomorrow.
i am 14 weeks pregnant and have been bleeding a little bit just noticing it when i wipe, i am on my third child and never experienced this previously.
i went to the doctor and she refered me to the hospital, they done a scan and everytihng was fine (well there was a heartbeat), i am really concerned and driving myself mad about it, can you give me some advice please.
Hi, I am about 7 weeks pregnant and i was experiencing period like cramping this past saturday. When i woke up saturday morning a rather large blood clot (the size of a ping pong ball) came out. I examined it, and it looked like tissue not really like a blood clot. Could I have had a miscarriage? The cramps stopped last night, but there still is a little bleeding, but not as much as it was on saturday. Also, my breasts were very sore and tender before and now they feel very normal with no pain and I never had any morning sickness yet. I would go to the ER but my insurance is covered by my parents name, so there is no way i can let my parents find out about this. I am 20 years old and this is my first pregnancy. Right now i really don't feel much of anything in my lower stomach anymore. I am planning on going to pilgrim medical center this wednesday, (located in NJ) which is the first day they open this week. I have feeling that i had a miscarriage but not sure yet until i get an ultrasound. Is this normal at all for a blood clot/tissue to come out?? If i did and there is still tissue left inside the uterus i was told that i need to have The blood was dark in color, not light spotting at all. From what i was told if i did have a miscarriage a D&C is performed to scrape any remaining tissue out. If anyone knows anything about this please help me out, Thanks.
That is what my baby looked like when the doctor pulled it out (only a little larger than a ping pong ball - mine was about a week older before it died). If the cramps stopped after it came out I would say that you have probably miscarried. The bleeding is normal if you have miscarried as your uterus has to now shed the lining as well as any other tissue that is still in there. If there is tissue in the uterus then a D&C will be required to clean it out to prevent infection. If you are not in pain then just go to the pilgrim center on wednesday, but you will probably continue to bleed (I bled heavily after my miscarriage) so wear pads! No tampons....
Go to the ER if you have any pain at all though....
I bled off and on through out my entire pregnancy with my second child. I spent more time and money on going to the ER just for them to check everything out and send me right back home. I delivered a fat, healthy, beautiful baby girl and there was no explanation as to why the bleeding. Every situation is different. I pray that everything is ok with your daughter in law. Please let us know. Thanks!
I Took a home pregnancy test the day before yesterday and it came out positive. The next day I started bleeding it was just a little bit but the bleeding became a little heavier and I had a few period like cramps, that night everything stoped but this morning I woke up and I was bleeding lightly again. I dont know what is going on.
Im 5 weeks pregnant and I'm having the same exact symptoms. My doctor says its pretty much a 50-50. The first trimester is different for everyone. I have a heavy flow, I am clotting, and the blood is dark but yet I still have a possibility. My doctor said avoid intercourse, lots of bed rest, and I'm sure she will have no issues chugging down water.. i haven't.. Good luck! We r kinda in this together.
