bleeding from between butt cheeks

My daughter is 16 years old and she seems to bleed from between butt cheeks.  Upon inspection of the area, it seems that she has a small hall/opening just beneath her back and higher than her anus (between her butt cheeks but not the anus).  The area is sensitive and looks little infected with some yellowish discharge.  What is this and is this normal?

You might have hemorrhoids, they are very common during pregnancy.

Sounds like a pilonidal cyst.  You can sometimes have them drained, or if you are like my husband, has had it surgically removed.  His opening would travel somewhat.  It would heal, and then open up somewhere else.  It's not life threatening, but can be a real nuisance.  It will most likely not go away on its own, but can heal itself, and then open up again.  They are pretty common.  My sister also has one, and has dealt with it for many, many years, without surgery.   Bathing will help it.  Go to the doctor, and try not to worry.

I think that your daughter has a Pilonidal Cyst.  My sister had the same thing, and from the sound of it the cyst may be infected.  These cysts are specific to the area you described and can grow very deep.  She should see a doctor and from what I know on the subject most often they need to be removed surgically because they reoccur.  Keep us posted.

Excuse me, what is a "small hall/opening"? Do you mean it is a natural opening or just an abrasion?
