If it makes things difficult sexually, encourage her to have an exam. Her ob-gyn can tell her very quickly whether she has a low-hanging cervix or something else. I say this because one time on this site, a woman wrote in with a similar problem, and when she went to the doctor she learned she had a (benign) growth inside her vagina. So it's not always a cervix.
Could be her cervix after its ovulated because a cervix will get firm post
