can i use klonopin to get of small does of methadone?

can i use klonopin to get off small dose of methadone? the doctor are using methadone as pain management to get out of chronic pain.sandy

If they will not help you ask why, they may have a good reason not taking you off methadone right now.  If they dont have a good reason then I would suggest switching to a different Dr. one that will listen to you.  It is very easy to get hooked on methadone....and klonopin.  You are the patient and it is your right to know why they will not help you get of methadone.

thank you for your help but my doctor and the pain doctor are together they want me to take methadone for chronic pain and my family doctor will not help me. what do you do? i am lost

Ask your Dr.  Only your Dr knows you and your meds you are on.  And they can tell you which route to go to get of methadone.

You need to be asking your doctors these questions.  No one here has any particular detailed medical knowledge, but besides that, if you are under a doctors care, that is the FIRST place you should go for advice about these very powerful medications.
