6 weeks late for period

Hi, i am a 22 year old ttc since November. My cycle is usually very regular and on time. My last period was on 13th june. I am not on any medication except basic prenatal vitamins. I am not stressed and i am healthy weight. I am around 6 weeks late for my period. I have done multiple hpt and doc urine test negative. Doc ruled out pcos as no problems with periods previously. Had 2 days extremely light spotting 4 weeks ago. No medical contitions. Thyroid and blood sugar tested when started ttc and all fine. Please advise. Thanks, Mellybear123

My last period was 13th june. I had a positive ovulation test on 28th june along with ovulation pain. I do not think i am pregnant due to all the negative tests but worried i might have a cyst or something as my abdomen is swollen. Doc said he did not think pcos as usually periods are regular and on time

I went to see my doc and he just done a urine pregnancy test which was negative.

He doesn't seem to help at all. I do not know what to do.

I think a simple doctor's appoint would suffice.  I would try to schedule that appt. and if they are unsure whether you are pregnant or not, they can recommend an ultrasound and it would be covered under insurance.  (out of pocket for that isn't cheap!)  good luck and let us know.

Thank you for the comment.

I wasn't too worried when it was one missed period but 2 has got me concerned!

Fingers crossed either period turns up or I get a positive test. Until then I will continue with my prenatals etc!

I am considering paying for a private ultrasound but not sure if this would be good idea or not!

Thank you xx

Hi there.  Well, periods can just be late for no reason at all.  It's frustrating I know.  Sometimes our thyroid can be slow or fast and this can cause it.  Sometimes our body will just naturally shift hormones.  For a period of time, I made too much estrogen.  Then it regulated back.

So, if you are regular typically and this is out of the blue and you've been trying to conceive ----  I would call your doctor.  Things to check on are an ectopic pregnancy.  Don't want to scare you but sometimes women get a negative pregnancy test for that, have some spotting and it is ectopic.  That can become dangerous and needs to be determined.

Or you could be that one in a million woman that somehow got a false negative.  It's extremely rare but it can happen.

so, either way, I'd ask for an appt. with your ob/gyn to figure out what is going on.  peace and luck and let us know what happens.
