consistant yellow/snotty vaginal discharge

Okay, essentially ever since i started my period when i was about 14 (im 17 now) ive had this nasty yellow, sometimes clear discharge, which ive heard is normal. its not a yeast infection because it doesn't itch all that much, and there is no way i wouldve had one since i was 14. but anyways. a few days ago, the discharge was almost a brownish color...it was very nasty looking, i assumed it was because i just finished my period but im not sure...i have sex with my boyfriend both protected and unprotected, i dont thinkt hat has anything to do with it, but im not sure once agian....
i really would like an answer to know what this is...whether it is normal and im overreacting or if i do have a yeast infection and i can get rid of it

Im 26 and i just started getting this BEFORE my period for the first time there is no smell snd no itching or burning.  I only notice it after I use the restroom and wipe myself.  I checked around and as long as there is no pain or other symptoms we should be alright.  Contact your OB/GYN, Planned Parenthood (free because your under 18) or family doctor if your really concerned or have any chnages.  good luck and your not alone

I have had this symptom every time I have completed my cycle.
I went to the doctors and explained and he said that I need not worry unless it changes colour or starts to itch or smell.  I havnt had these symptoms so I would say dont worry.
But keep and eye on it and I also mark it down in my diary.
PS I am 51 years old!!!!
