could this be herpes or what?

i had protected sex about a week ago i was very dry after the sex my vulva was very sore the next day my period cam and that was normal..near the ending of my period i felt sore again..i notice a very small spot near the opening of my vagina at the bottom on my vulva it looks like the skin has been rubbed off i have no discharge no odor it doesn't hurt when i pass urine but it does sting if urine touches it..there are no bumps of blisters i went to the doctors and he did a pap smear i am waiting on the results from that...but he said it looks like it could be herpes...but like i said they are no bumps or blisters or anything just a very very spot...it is sore doesn't itch...could it be from having sex and i was dry?..because i didn't start to feel this way until after i had sex.i am scared but i hope i don't have herpes...my doctor did say he wasn't sure..but how long does it take for raw skin on the vulva to heal?..

Nikki,
It doesn't sound like Herpes to me. I think Herpes has blisters and itches alot. I wouldn't worry, you have neither. Good luck to you.

i agree, it doesnt sound like herpes, did your doctor test for it? a pap will not tell you if you have it, herpes does not produce an odor or discharge, so if you dont develop sores that itch, its most likely not

herpes is not diagnosed with a blood test, he should have swabbed the area, if he did not, then he didnt test you, the pap is only done to test for abnormal cell growth(cancerous cells) i dont know a lot about the script you got, but make sure you take it as directed, herpes medications usually have few if any side affects, so if you dont have it then you will be ok, i know its hard to wait for a test result, but hang in there,
