discharge concern

I am 13 years old and have not started my period, but as of late i have noticed a dark brown, very thick discharge coming from my vagina. Is this my period or will it turn red eventually? If it does, could you give me an idea of how soon it will? Please respond.

Hey, I'm 14 and I'm a bit worried. I had the implant fitted in my arm April last year (2012) and the nurse told me it could take up to 6 months to get used to... For three months after having it fitted, I had no period then one day my period came.. No warning or anything.. It lasted 6-12 days like my normal period did and I'm still on now 6months later.. It stops every other month for 3-5days and then if comes back.. What should I do? Please respond!

My first few periods were brown.  It took about 3-4 months of regular brown periods to get a typical period.  Thankfully, I was able to anticipate my first "real" period because of it, and never ended up having an embarrassing moment.

Discharge is normal even before your period. The brown discharge means you are getting your period and it may even come as soon as today or tomorrow. and if not just go to a gyno in case but nothing to be scared of thats just the beggining of your menstural cycle.
Gud Luck.
