I should think it would show as its measuring the HCG levels and thats gonna be there until the baby is born. Can I ask why? Did u think u was pregnant and didnt know? Or is it just one of those funny questions that gets thought of someimes? :-P

The test should show + till the end! B/c you have the pregnancy hormones.

That cannot possibly be true.  No way.  You cannot be 8 months pregnant and get a negative hpt.

You always have hcg in your system as long as you are pg, and for a short time afterwards.

It takes so long for the HCG to leave the system that even after you deliver you can still get a positive for a while.

*shocked* how could she not know?!  I mean maybe she could have been a bit on the larger side...  And maybe didn't gain that much weight...  But you can feel it on the inside!  That deffinately isn't an alien!  What a strange story...

apparently she was very large and did not feel the baby. I have no idea, it was crazy Also if you read most hpt they have a diff. kind of result other then a dark plus sign once your hcg is higher then straight after your period. I know it sounds crazy but its a true story happend only a few months ago

hcg does go down in the 2nd trimester but still is way higher than the test cutoffs... I mean most tests go from 20-50 units of hcg... and in my 2nd trimester of my last pregnancy, they did blood tests my levels had dropped waaaay down but still were nearly 68,000 (dropped from over 80,000 at 7.5 weeks).

Heck I had test strips left so I took a test at 5 weeks post partum and still had enough to trigger a ++ result with both breastmilk (I knwo I'm wierd) and urine... although they were real faint

so anyhow, you should get a positive result until the end

THAT said, I think I remember reading something a long time ago about some lady that delieverd in a hot tub here and she said she never got positive results and they said that some people make some form of hcg that cant be picked up by the urine tests or something like that but it was SUPER rare. I know a roommate of mine pulled that though and was totally lying. She never got prenatal care and was overweight enough to not get the typical pregancy stomaugh. One night she went to the er with "stomaugh pains" and delievered her baby. Her baby was really sick and weighed like 2 pounds and had problems from the alcohol she drank. Like I said, later she admitted to me that she knew the whole time
