estrogen levels

I am a 40 year old woman and my periods have recently become irregular for the first time in my life.
My breasts are a bit sore too sometimes (no sharp pain or burning though)
my weight is also up and I am becoming more forgetful than ever. No sign of hot flashes though.

Do I have too much estrogen in my system?
and also are there any free clinics in my area (Honolulu) where I can get a  free mammogram? The state denies me low cost/free medical even though I am low income.

thank you

Kelley

well, after reading some research around it has been said that the Wild Yam cream might have some side effects,so I am not too sure about that one
there is another product that has been clinically tested that I might try. it is called Pro Gest by Emertia  http://www.emerita.com/index.cfm/category/4/perimenopause.cfm
of course, directions should be followed correctly on this product also
but anyways  thank you for your advice so far, I have never heard of any of these remedies!

I know some women who swear by wild yam cream.  Maybe you could check a book on natural remedies -- I think I did see one specifically about natural remedies for menopause symptoms a while back.  It kind of was tough to read (who wants to believe these things are really going to happen?) but it seems like I remember it talked about foods and supplements and stuff.

so are there certain foods or supplements to help control my symptoms you think?

It could be perimenopause, which comes on as long as ten years before menopause.  Its hallmarks are irregular periods and oddball hormonal symptoms.

Call Planned Parenthood and ask them the question about mammograms.  I'd also try the Susan G. Komen people, they might know.
