frequent periods

My 11 yr old daughter started menstruating in April 2009. She seems to be having a period every 2 to 21/2 weeks lasting about 4 to 5 days. Should I be concerned and take her to a doctor or just wait and see if things settle down?
She is normal height and weight for her age and we live in a rural area so not great access to doctors.
Thanks for any help offered.
Worried Mum.

When I was her age my periods were really irregular too.  I had my first one then didn't have another for a whole year.  And after that it was only every few months.  And sometimes I would have one, stop for a week, have another, stop for a week, have another...  on and on like 5 or 6 times.  She is probably just fine and her body is just reacting to the hormones.
If it goes on too long, if it starts to interfere with her life, or even if it would make you feel better go talk to the doc.  They might even just talk to you and not give her an exam.  Maybe they could recommend something to make her regular if you want.  If it's something you are really stressing about then go talk to a doctor, it's better than worrying.

there are no medical people answering these posts because they answer the ones on other forums that are ment to be answered by doctors, these forums are just for chats.
and yes everyone is aloud their own opinion, you obviously very strongly agree with herbal remidies which is fine but you will find that the majority of people on here will choose going to the doctors first and then try herbal remidies rather than count on herbs outright.
lets face it tho, although we know our own bodies better than anyone a doctors knows a lot more than us about diseases and infections and all that.

Or you could lsiten to people on this site, becasue if you have not notice there are no medical people answering questions.  Which says alot. Of course periods can be irregular, but unless it is a life threat why involve a doctor.  I agree with Sandy if it goes on consistantly for years and becomes intrusive on her life then sure look into help.  But remember you dont always have to seek doctors help.  People have helped themselves heal and be healthy for thousands of years before the general doctors and man made medications came around.

It is all personal choice, I just hate to see a young girl go to the doctor and get pumped full of man made meds full of chemicals that can cause side effect and other problems.  I jsut feel to much of the world has walked away from the natural cures and remedies, they dont even give them a chance.

As a woman and a mother who has had a period for a number of years you know what is is like, go with your gut.

when you are young your periods are never regular
if it consists for years then maybe get it checked out but i really think its nothing to worry about however i am not a doctor so if it would make you and your daughter feel better you could go to the doctors, better be safe than sorry

I started my period very young to.  Mine did the same thing every 2-3 weeks and about 4-5 days long.  Over time the days of flow lessened but for a long time i was only 3 weeks apart if I was lucky.

It is always good to take Vitex/Chaste Tree capsules, you can get them at a health food store or online. it is good to help with any female problems and to maintain a good healthy female system.
