help! plan b?

I am on the generic brand of yasmin but i was recently put on antibiotics. I was on antibiotics or about a week. I had unprotected sex 5 days after stopping the antibiotics. I was still using my bc at the time, but i am worried that it wasnt as effective because the antibiotics. Was that enough time? or should I use plan B to be sure?

After I finished my antibiotics i was put on another one but only took it for one day because I woke up in the middle of the night and threw up. I dont think that this would effect the absorption of the pill though because this only happened once and i hadnt taken the pill anywhere near the time i threw up, so i didnt throw it up.

Yeah, you should be okay.  Had you taken 5 days of hormone pills in your contraceptive pack after the antibiotics.  Normally you're supposed to take them for 7 days to be safe.  But there's every chance that even with the antibiotics you would be okay.

Did you get any diarrhoea or vomiting that would mean you weren't absorbing the pill properly?

Ive been on birth control for a couple years now. I know I should use a condom but for most of the time ive been on birth control i havent used them and ive been perfectly fine, so i think that i shouldnt worry about this then. i will be using them from now on though!

yes you should be ok. but you do know birth controls not 100% and plently of women get prengant on the pill. if you dont want to get pregnant you should think about using condoms

You (should) be ok. How long have you been on birth control? I have to also say that the pill is only (i think) about 99.9% affective against pregnancy and there have been allot of women on here who fall into that 0.01% catagory even without being on antiboitics. When is your period due? So therefore, you should really use another form of protection when using the pill like condoms. I've been on antiboitics before while on the pill and never had a problem with it. Allot of websites I've seen either say they affect the pill or they don't. Pretty much go with your gut feeling. If you feel better taking plan b (can only be taken within so many hours of sex, i think 72) then take it, but if you think your ok then don't.
