im 40 years old and not getting my period

hello,
like i said prior ,im going crazy because last cycle was strange very painful,and longer than usual ....now i have been spotting brown discharge all month and ,today feel like my periods are coming but nothing im retaining water weight usual,breast tendernes ,back ache and all the wonderful things of pms but nothing can i be menopausal? endometriosis? uterine cancer ? what is wrong with me,,,,,,i have an appointment with gyno on 29 jan but what should i ask , i want to get endovaginal,fsh,?????

please give me some insight...

You seem pretty young for menopause, I don't know what it could be but you will find out soon enough at your appointment.

I think you are. metapausing. Sorry don't really know how to spell that, but I believe that is whats happening to you. My mother was around your age when it happened to her.
