late

okay let me backtrack a little bit. my son was born last April, ever since then I've had heavy periods ever since. lasted for 7-9 days and I had to change every 1 1/2 - 2 hours. I usually start on the 26th or 27th of each month. this time around I was 8 days late and started bleeding on the 5th..today ( day 2 )  I just finished bleeding... I wanted to see how long I could go without changing my tampon (you might think its gross but it was my test to see how much I was bleeding) 15%-20% of a super plus tampon had brownish red blood in 10 hours. yea not a lot compared to my last 9 periods.. I took a test today and it came back negative. im very confused about this situation. im not stressed, nothing has changed with my eating or exercise. everything has been the same so why the late and short period?? if you need any other info let me know

its not an irregular period. all other periods have been the same(bleeding heavily and having to change a super plus tampon within 2 hours and stays like that for 7-9 days). this time its very light, more brown than anything. I wish I could show you a picture so you could understand what I mean. do you have an email address?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
This bleeding could be due to an impending miscarriage or an irregular period. Hence to rule out miscarriage, you can confirm it by getting your HCG levels checked. In case of pregnancy loss, the value of HCG will return to a non-pregnant range(<5 mIU /L) about 4 - 6 weeks after a pregnancy loss.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
