lower abdominal pain with frequent urination and itching

i have just arrived back from usa after a 9hour flight. the morning of the flight i was very bloated and all the way back i was having to use the loo every half hour and i was passing a lot of urine. since coming back that has continued and i am itching around my genitals all the time. i also stated having bursts of lower ab pain by my uterus that came and went. the pain only lasted seconds but would double me over. i feel quite poorly and the jet lag seems to be going on a bit. i have a continuous headache and sometimes the pain seems to shoot right through me into lower back. the only thing that i can recall that started it was that my partner and i had vigorous sex and the next morning i felt sore down below. i need to get over this as i have to go to work but not sure what i've done. i thought it might be cystitis but i am actually weeing loads and the pain if i cant get to a loo is awfull. i have swelled up like a football and my ab feels heavy and draging and i seemed to have gained loads of weight. then i thought  thrush, but cant visibly see anything down there. any advise would be appreciated. i am 43 and have 6 children between 27 and 8. i ovulate sometimes very painfully as i did last month on the left side and when my period began, the 1st day the pain in my ab was worse than ever. i am now one week since that period ended and the pain began in my right side but by the evening was centre just above the pubic bone. i am feeling tremendous pressure in the lower ab which is making my belly hurt when i need a pee which is all the time. i am also nauseous.

I would think a kidney infection. My friend had one and she had the same symptoms you are describing. Even the feeling sick. She had to go to the hospital, she got antibiotics and it did go away, bu that's what it sounds like or maybe bladder infection. I would really call your Dr. these things can progress very fast and get worse if not treated. Hope everything turns out alright and you can get some meds! God Bless.

my partner never came in me, but i did notice that it all started the morning after. is it possible that some bacteria entering from the bowel could cause it as we did go at it like rabbits. (well work was over and we were leaving the next day for england.). the thing that threw me was the fact that i pee like a horse and if i cant get to a loo the pain is unbearable. i weighed myself tuesday and this morn (fri) had lost 5 lb, so that tells me that something is going on with water works. the stabbing pain has stopped but i still am nauseous and headache and feel really shattered. my appitite is better today though. really dont want antibiotics as they screw with my system. any alternative sugestions. i am still drinking loads and having lots of baths with some salt in as this is relieving the itching which is also driving me crazy. i had no sleep for 34 hours from monday 7am us time till 10pm tuesday english time and there is a five hour time diff. is it possible that this has taken its toll too and is making me feel so ill. i have slept wed, thurs night but only about 5 or 6 hours a night. would this add too the problem do you think?

I don't know if you received med. help yet. Just wanted to let ya know that it sounds like you could also have a yeast infection along with a bladder and/ or kidney infection. A double whammy! :( If you take antibiotics it will probabably make itching/irritation symptoms worse. For the fastest (usually instant) relief of yeast symptoms just get over the counter miconazole cream. Thank God for this stuff!!! Definetly see a dr if you haven't already. The home remedies only go so far and the time spent on them can allow things to get worse!! Take care.
