miscarriage or not?

I think a miscarriage may be inevitable for me.  My last menses was Feb 18 so that would put me at almost 8 weeks preg.  I went yesterday for my first apt and the ultrasound showed "something", but that I was definately not 7 weeks and it wasn't even measurable.  They want me to come back in 2 weeks, to check the growth. I had a positive preg test on March 16 even if I was barely pregnant it should show something measurable right?  So is it inevitable that I will miscarry?

Is there any chance that you ovulated late? When I got pregnant this time, I ovulated late so I wasn't as far along as I thought. I had an ultrasound at 6 weeks 5 days and it was so small I couldn't tell what I was looking at, and my doctor told me not to freak out if I didn't see anything because sometimes we can't see a baby until into the 7th or 8th week. I went back in 2 weeks later at 8 weeks 5 days and the baby was much bigger and everything is fine, I am now 15 weeks and it's going good. But I was freaked out at first too, especially because I had a miscarriage in October 2006 and when the baby wasn't measuring as far along as I thought I was I thought I was doomed for another miscarriage, try not to stress( I know it's easier said then done though), there is a baby in there, just take it easy for the next 2 weeks, do something nice for yourself to try to keep your mind off it, everything can turn out just fine =) Good luck and I will wait to hear an update.
