Could I be pregnant? When can I take a test?

I am on birth control. I had not been taking my pill at the same time. I was not having sex at the time, nor was I planning on it. This would be during the second week of my pills...

On November 10th, I forgot to take my pill. At 5 am on November 11th, I had unprotected sex. When I came home that afternoon (I was out of town), I took 5 birth control pills out of my regular pack. It is now Wednesday November 28th. I took my last pill late Sunday night (Nov 25th). I do not have my period, but there is some brown discharge (just a little bit from the middle of today) in my underwear, all other discharge appears clear. I have been stressing over this as well, so it may be making my period late. Could I be pregnant? When can I take an at home test? What is this discharge all about?

Brown just means old blood. If you just have spotting, it can take a while before it actually comes out, so it turns brown. The last day of my AF is usually brownish.

Try not to stress too much. I'm sure you're fine :-)

Yes, I just continued on the same pack of pills. Thank you for the response. I think the risk is pretty low too, but I am just freaked out...I don't know how to stop...and I was wondering what the brown stuff was.

Hmmm! I think chances are low that you are pregnant, especially since you only missed one pill and then took five the following day. The fact that you did take the large dose that day could have elevated your hormone levels, and that could be why you're spotting. Or like you said, it could also be because of stress. By the way, after taking the five pills, did you just continue on the same pack of pills? If so, that means you took your last active pill four days earlier than normal, and that could cause some changes in your body too.
