naproxen

Ever since taking naoproxen I have attacks varying in intensity, that make me feel very weak, extreme depression, feeling like passing out, sometimes naseau, and general malaise. When I take a deep breath, I feel ill and uncomfortable. I was originally given naproxen to treat pericarditis, an inflamation of the sac around the heart. Most  of the inflamation might be gone, but I still feel "sick" . Has anyone experienced these related symptons?

I also recently had pericarditis and took ibuprofen for mine.  This seemed to control the symptoms somewhat without the effects that you mention.  After I recovered from the pericarditis I still did not feel well and went to my doctor to follow up.  It turns out that I had rheumatoid arthritis and the pericarditis was a complication of that.  I also had a severe viral infection immediately prior to all of my problems, so I guess everything is attributed to that.  I would ask your doctor about ibuprofen.  From all of the research I did about pericarditis, it seems that it is a pretty common treatment.  They can also give you something like Prednisone (an anti-immflamatory with steroids) that is supposed to work well.  I am not a doctor, but maybe you could look into this.

Hello I have taken Naproxin before, and I have never had any of those symptoms. I am not a doc. but my personal advice would be to go back to the doc. and explain your symptoms. I would not take the med. again until I see a doc. unless you absolutly have to. I hope this helps you.
