period issues

i stopped taking my birthday control and i got my period 6 days late
a week after i ended my period i went to the bathroom and i noticed fresh brown spotting and discharge
this rarely happens to me
i went to wipe and instead of being brown it was red
i dont know whats going on
can somebody help me?

A week later doesn't seem to be related to your period. Perhaps it's just part of the irregular periods that can happen in the first few months of being off of the BCP. Maybe put in a call to the nurse at your drs office. That's a great way to get an answer w/o having to go all the way in for an appt. But if it concerns you enough, you could always go see the dr and have it checked out. Good luck! Keep us posted!

no, i'm not trying to conceive.
if it was old blood wouldnt it of been happening the days after my period and not a week later?

I think sometimes periods can be a little irregular right after stopping the birth control pill. So that could cause the spotting. Implantation spotting is certainly a possibility, too. You might want to do a home pregnancy test to know for sure. But that shouldn't be done until right before your period is due to get the most accurate result. Are you trying to conceive?

the brown blood is the old blood. and also implantation bleeding .
