Sometimes if you're a bit on the heavier side (sorry if that sounds rude) it might mean there's a bit more padding between you and the baby and this could possibly prevent you from feeling the baby move as often. It may also be facing your back and a lot of the movement is toward your back therefore you're not experiencing any 'kicking' toward your belly. If you don't feel it move in the next couple of weeks I would go and talk to your dr, but if you've had an ultrasound recently and it looked ok then it might just take a little more time. It's not unusual to not feel movement at 22 weeks though, but a lot of people will experience it before then - not all - but a lot. Don't let friends etc worry you too much though!

Another thing to add is that a lot of women don't recognise that the feelings they are experiancing are actualy the baby moving. Some just think that it's gas or your belly rumbling. In the first weeks you feel the baby, it's usualy very soft and light. and depending on if this is your first baby and how much you weigh makes a diffence also. Heaver women tend to not feel the baby quite as soon as others. And when you get a little farther along and want to feel the baby, get something to eat, lay down on your left side and realx. When you are more active in most cases the baby will sleep, but when you are trying to relax or sleep that is when the baby likes to dance. (Gets you prepared for those sleepless nights! ;))
and going by the books and what is "normal" is just the average. There is no "set" time you should or shouldn't experiance things in pregnancy. Every pregnancy is different. But to set your mind at ease give your Doc a call or go in. Don't worry, in no time you will feel that little baby kicking like crazy!

Is this your first? I am 21 weeks (my first) and don't feel anything yet. Sometimes I think I feel little bubbles and I think it's the baby, but no major kicks or movements. As long as everything is looking good at the dr, you're fine. Did you have your U/S yet? I had mine and my placenta is on the front wall of my uterus. The tech said in his experience women that have their placenta there feel the baby a week or two later because it can be extra "cushioning". And if you're really worried you can always call the dr. Good luck!
