progesterone

I've been having irregular periods for the last few months and went to the doctor for a pap smear and am waiting for the results. The doctor gave me progesterone pills because my last period lasted for a whole month then stopped and had some spotting, then I started bleeding again 3 weeks later and have been bleeding for over a week now. I stopped bleeding on my second day of taking the progesterone pills but the bleding only stopped for one day then started up again. Did anybody ever take the progesterone pills and what were your experiences while on the progesterone?

Well I got my pap smear results back today. NORMAL I'm so happy but still don't know why I'm bleeding. It was spotting before but now the bleeding is a little heavier than a normal period but there seems to be more blood clots. For anyone who has taken progesterone pills is this normal after coming off of them?

i have taken progesterone twice to delay my period because both times i was due to get it while on vacation. it made me very grouchy and worked the first time (years ago). i didnt get a period (when i was due to get it) and was delayed  a week. the most recent time was this past april. i took it for 2 wks and it didnt delay my period at all. i got my period right on schedule so it didnt work this time. i guess there are different strengths/doses so perhaps you need to be on a dose that regulates you more or is not as strong? sounds like its not balancing you.

Yeah I did take a pregnancy test and it was negative so that's not it.

If you are continually bleeding you need to let the doctor know, even if you were just there for a pap a few days ago.
