I started Clomid this last period, I don't know if this is common but I've been really anxious, mood swibgs, like if I had the worst PMS, however I have to say you can cope with it as you know its the medicine, I know the anxiety and that hole in my chest are the clomid, I have also spoken to hubby so he understands csuse I am really irritable... Ohhh hope I get the BFP soo n and hope for the best to you too. You can defo make it. x
Ps. I had 1 and a half glass of wine last night and felt tipsy, like if I had 3, weird but the dr didn't say i couldn't drink, well in moderation, not much if you want to get pregnant anyway.

I just received a phone call from my doctor this past Friday (June 30, 2006) that my progesterone level was very low and that my Ob/Gyn was going to start me on Clomid.

Today, I was able to reach her (rather she called me back after the 4th of July holiday), and she is going to start me on Clomid on my start of my cycle in a few days.

I am curious to know if any women out there who was on Clomid conceived any multiple births. I already have a child without the use of any fertility drugs, when I was 25 and I am now 36.

My aunt has twins...and she is my father's sister. I'm just curious to know that it is going to end up heightening my chances of any multiple births...with the factors of having already one child, age and twins running in the family. My mother also told me that my aunt's mom when she was younger had quads..but they all died at birth...as modern medicine in the long ago past wasn't like they are now-a-days.

Any advice would help. Thanks!

I took Clomid a few years ago after trying to conceive for 2 yrs.  I had already had one child without trying, but for some reason that second one was difficult.  My obgyn told me that I would need to consider other options if the Clomid didn't work. I cannot remember exactly how long I took it, but it was as long as he would allow me to.  Next step would be shots, but I had decided to just stop trying.  At my appointment when I was going to tell him I had given up he said I still needed to take a pregnancy test and sure enough I was pregnant!  He came in the room and said "guess what, possitive" and I said "say that again!".  That was 7 yrs ago and I has my son and since then have had another little boy without any help.  I know from experience how hard this can be, but don't give up.  Keep thinking possitive, even if things seem difficult!

Hello,
we are at day 20, and 4 days post iui just this last Monday morning,  I have taken Clomid in the past and did fine, but this time it threw me for a loop on the first day---Just let your family know that you may be irritable, and need everyone to love you and give lots of hugs and attention, and listen to your needs during this time.  I was one 100mg this time and yikes I was a lady on a war path for about 24 hours.

As far as drinking, I would not recommend it, stick to Sparkling Apple Cider, you want to conceive so why not give your body and developing follicles a head start by being completely healthy.  Remember to begin prenatals asap and drink your oj.

Lots of good wishes to you

ps.  I also had an HCG shot on day 16 to mature the follicles and release an egg.  with 24-36 hours we had the iui.

best of luck --- Don't be scared of clomid people make it sound worse than it is.  Just remember to contact your Doctor for anything--trust they've heard it all

Sorry, i have not taken it, so i dont know what the side effects for me would/will be. But i did want to let you know that I am starting within the next 2 months....so let me know how it goes, please. I am nervous like you are. Have heard some bad stuff about it. Hubby says he is afraid of the mood effects...but i told him having sex every other night should counter act that, haha.
Anyway, GOOD LUCK and KEEP ME POSTED!!!

I have had 6 clomid cycles so far. The first cycle I had nausea all day and felt dizzy occasionally. I also felt very tired. My Dr suggested to take at night and it worked very well. I had no problems.

Clomid is a hormone, so alcohol should not affect it.  If you are trying to get pregnant, you might not want to drink.  I took it for 4 cycles and had no side affects but no pregnancy either.  Clomid is used to help regulate ovulation, so if you are ovulating, Clomid probably won't help.

I took 100 mg CD3-7, never felt anything special. I wouldn't (and didn't) worry about a glass of wine/beer. It's hard enough to get in the mood if you know you have to put romance on a strict schedule! (but of course I'm European and we tend to get less nervous about small amounts of alcohol with pills or during pregnancy ;-)

I have taken clomid twice, the first time was in December 2005, the only side effect that I had was very painful ovulation. This time I took clomid in February and I am thinking that I ovulated sometime in the past day or two but I didn't have any pain at all. My dose is 50mg dail for 5 days (cd2-6). Other than the painful ovulation in December, I have had NO side effects at all. Every person is different though, so how I reacted to them is not necesarily how you will. I wish you the best of luck and hope you get your BFP soon.

I took clomid while trying to conceive my second child. I didn't have any weird side effects, but don't know about mixing with alcohol, which probably isn't a good idea if you are trying to have a baby. but, you should check with your Dr, or ask a pharmacist. They can prob give you information about drug side effects and such.

I've never taken clomid but I've heard differnt things about it.  Some women say they get really moody on it and it dries up your CM.  Others say they don't notice anything different.  I'm sure someone will respond that has actually taken it.  Sorry, I don't know about drinking while on it.
