strong odor@ 11 wks pregnant- HELP

I have been experiencing an odor and a little discharge for a while now. I am 11 weeks pregnant and on sept 24th I went to the ER bc  I was having some brown (small amt) discharge.. they told me I have a UTI and put me on the antibiotic called macrobid for 7 days..( 2 x's a day @ 100mgs)... i finished that and i went back to the ER bc the odor just hasn't went away at all. Its pretty bad, something I never experienced before. They put me back on the same medicine for another 7 days. nothing has changed at alll.. does anyone have any idea why this wont go away? is this medicine not working? i dont have an ob appt till the 25th. not to be gross but the smell honestly smells like urine. (very strong urine).. thanks so much in advance for any replies!

Prenatal vitamins caused this strong odor in my urine.

sounds like a uti, but strong urine odor can also be from what you're eating. get some uti strips from the store and test for yourself if you have a uti as well as see your progress as you are doing the antibiotic treatment. sometimes our urine and fluid smell weird during pregnancy too. also, ask your doctor for a kidney panel blood test to see if your kidneys are aggitated by infection.

I am wondering if this is more of a vaginal infection?  If that is the case, perhaps the medication is not the proper one.  I would call your doctor and make an appt. as soon as you can get in and have it checked out.  Good luck and I hope eveything goes well.
