swollen with red bumps? maybe two much sex? who knows...but I need help.

I had finished my menstrual cycle about 4 days ago. Recently I have noticed that the outter lip on the lower left side, along with the anal area is abit raw and swollen,(however the swollening goes down after a few hours). I had cleaned myself down there and noticed a few red small bumps where the swollening usually occures.  Which I haven't seen before, but would really like to know what they would be caused by? The only other thing that comes to mind would be the excessive wipping from menstrating.  Due to the fact of uncomfort of leaking onto my clothing. I haven't had any std before, and have only had one sex partner for over 6 years, which is my husband.
need some help.
thanks.  Wish you all the best health and a happy life.

I agree with the using pad question. My body is actually allergic to pads; whenever I use them, they give me a yeast infection because they don't keep the area dry enough. This can cause the bumps. If you are using any type of pad (light-day or actual pad) at any point during your period, consider switching exclusively to tampons or changing your pads double the amount you change them now. Although the increase in frequency of changing them is expensive, it is well worth it to keep the bumps and irritation away to prevent a yeast infection. I have been tampon-only since high school because of the yeast problems from the pads. I use light-day pads on heavy days, but change them frequently. Good luck; I know it is crappy!

Are you using pads? Pads can irritate the skin down there because your sitting in your own blood for what could be hours until you change.
It very well could be yeast too. Our vaginas are filled with all sorts of bacteria and icky things. Anything can cause inflamation. There is this stuff I used to use for pimples, but it's actually an anti-inflamitory cream.. It starts with a C, but I cant remimber the name. Anyway, what you should do is get some anti-hystomine/anti-inflamitory cream and use it before you go to bed on clean skin. It should clear up within a few days. Always keep some anti-bacterial whipes handy too, and use them whenever you feel it's necessary.
