taking tegretol, how bad is this if i have a baby?

i am taking tegretol for spasms that i get. 2 tablets a day. i do not have epilepsy and have never had a seizure. taking the tablets stops the spasms. i am ttc and was wondering if taking this medication would harm the unborn child? are my chances of having a healthy baby slim?

Anytime you are considering TTC, you should first get a complete exam from your doctor.  At that time, you can discuss the medications you are on, and together decide which drugs might need to be changed, if any.

Don't just get pregnant first and ask questions later.  That is irresponsible.
