I got pregnant right away with my first and third.  The second one took me 9 months!!!!  The other day on the Today Show, they had some suggestions for people trying to conceive.  They said to avoid caffeine and drink whole milk.  Also, you need to relax and not stress out about getting pregnant.  They say stress always is a factor when your trying to conceive.  So Good Luck!

I would suggest researching basal body temperatures and start charting your temp's.  Just because you are having periods does not mean you are ovulating!!!  I tried for a long time to get prego and charting my temps helped me and my doctor realize that I didn't ovulate and had to see a fertility dr.    I now have a little boy!!  I just hated waisting all the time thinking it was me doing something wrong and wish someone would have told me to start charting my waking temps sooner.  Best of luck!

My doctor told me that I shouldn't worry until we have been trying for 12 months.  IF no pregnancy accured then he suggested seeing a fertility doctor.  As for the best times to have intercourse that would be the 10, 12 and 14th day after your period.  The first day being the day you started your period.  So, if you start your period on Janurary 3rd then you would have intercourse on Janurary 12, 14, and 16th.  You can always tell when you are ovulating by your discharge.  When it's very stringy, clear and more than usual that is your most fertile time.  Also, after intercourse try just lying there for a good two hours or through the night if possible.  Good luck
