vaginitis? pid? or appendicitis? chronic pain!

I've posted on symptoms forums about chronic abdominal for last 7 months,(upper and low abdominal )pelvic, rectal and back pain, lost almost 60lbs,hair loss,no appetite, nausea, fever, and just am a mess from this pain.Have had many test, was in hospital for this pain in april (within 4 months i have had colonscopy, laparscopy, endoscopy, hida scan, catscan, kidney ivp,ultrasounds,pap/pelvic,celiac sprue, lactose intolerence test,porphyria,lead/mercury posion test) all test are normal, lap showed no endometroisis which was first suspected.Colonscopy showed inflammation but gi doc just said ibs.Pain left in July came back since then severe.Went to er other night and had pelvic exam, said i had gardnerella vaginitis, and noted cervical cysts,dr didnt feel this was source of my pain.I was told that in April for another er visit, put on antibotics, pain never left. The pain mimics appendicitis, but with having lap in Aug,dr said it looked normal. Is it possible for bacterial infection of vagina to be this painful and spread? I have not been sexually active (not in this pain..last thing on my mind is sex haha) and I'am std free.Could repeated vaginitis infections without treatment lead to pid and be source of lower abdominal pain? it travels down to my hip and thighs.I've had ibs for yrs but it never caused this much pain,I dont believe ibs is sourch of this pain.I'm 28 and had to quit work (cosmetologist) because I cant stand up for too long.Any idea's appreciated,ty (:

It sounds to me like P.I.D and cysts can cause pain in groin and thigh area.Frequent antibiotics lower your immune system and also strip your stomach lining and your bowel which wont be helping you I.B.S.Pain and stress are a vicious disease and one can cause the other .Have you thought about what was different in your life when your pain stopped in july you should keep a journal of food and activities and see can you find a pattern.I think most of your tests were clear and didnt show anything significant you may have FIBROMYALGIA.

Sounds a lot like my dad...he was extremely sick for over 10 years...ended up being bad Chron's disease with a fistula on bowel....feces was leaking from bowel into bladder and blood stream.  Took MANY colonoscopies and other tests to diagnose but since surgery he is much better.  They had to remove a foot of bowel.  I have a lot of your symptoms too but docs say IBS and gas.  The pain in leg is worth looking at ovarian cancer website just to rule everything out!  Godd luck

Ty ziglet and Bedford for your reply and  idea's,I'm gonna look into those.I've also wondered about chrons,Only person in my family that has it is my aunt.My sister 'n law sister has it,and I've watched her in pain and get ill from it at times.I wondered about fistula too.My old dr refused another colonoscopy,it did show inflammation but said it was IBS,this was in April.I alternate between diarrhea and constipation,in past I managed it with diet and meds (paxil, imodium, fiber)I have fever with this too.Last week around my belly button on left side felt lump, felt like partial obstruction,it hurt to move,I figured it was pulled muscle seeming few days before I did serious straining during bm,now it is on right side.Sometimes when I wipe front I will see fecal matter, which alarms me.Laparscopy in Aug showed my appendix and bowels look normal.Seems since laparscopy pain is worse, but no sign of infection from procedure and had normal catscan at er 4 weeks ago again at er for this pain thinking it was kidney stone, prone to those. Now im having rectal pressure and pain (have fissure on outside  skin around anus, cracked cleft)like I need to move my bowels or pass gas and cant,so needless to say I havent left house cuz afraid of "accident" constantly running to bathroom.I wondered about ovarian cancer too, looked it up,but with having lap and many pap/pelvic over last few months I would think that would of shown up? Now on top of this dealing with tmj,my jaw is out of place and locked..cant eat! not that i been eating alot cuz of this pain, but my old dr wont take me serious so tomorrow I go see my new dr,hopefully better luck this time around.Sorry so long..needed to vent! ty (:

Hi,

I am sorry to hear you have been unwell for so long. I had medical problems that doctors could not figure out as well. Most thought I was crazy and needed antidepressants. Turns out I have a reaction to artificial sweetners (which I had previously asked them about and they poo-poo'd the idea). Anyway, enough about me.

First I dont know the answer to your questions. But I have a few suggestions.
Have you considered seeing an alternative healthcare specialist like a chiropractor or naturopath? They are very much about treating you as a whole person and not just and list of symptoms.

Secondly, the pain in your hipsand legs sounds like you have problem with your sciatic nerve. I found this link that talks about it and complications that sound like
some of yours. http://www.spine-health.com/topics/cd/d_sciatica/sc01.html

Heres a snippet of what it says
One or more of the following sensations may occur as a result of sciatica:
Pain in the rear or leg that is worse when sitting
Burning or tingling down the leg
Weakness, numbness or difficulty moving the leg or foot
A constant pain on one side of the rear
A shooting pain that makes it difficult to stand up
Low back pain may be present along with the leg pain, but usually the low back pain is less severe than the leg pain

Symptoms that may constitute a medical emergency include progressive weakness in the leg or bladder/bowel incontinence.... In general, patients with complicating factors should contact their doctor if sciatica occurs, including people who:... have unexplained, significant weight low(loss)....

I am not sure if this helps you but its a place to start. Many spinal problem show up in other places in your body because ofpressure they put on your nerves. If you can find a chiropractor...maybe they can help.

I empathize with people in pain, because I've been through in myself with debilitating headaches for over two years. Doctors dont have all the answers that why its called the practice of medicine.

I'll keep looking online and if I find anything else, I'll let you know.
