I'm pretty sure mine's from my mom, too.  I have also read that it will correct itself during pregnancy but that it doesn't always do so.  My mom told me she had a LOT of back labor.  My lower back hurts so badly during my cycles, so I'm pretty sure I'll have the same discomfort during pregnancy...but I'll take my chances anyway! :)  I've heard that they can surgically correct it, but I haven't really looked into it.
HOWEVER, I have discovered a wonderufl thing called a "bed buddy."  You heat it up in the microwave.  It helps some with the pain...

I have a tilted uterus as well. I was also told it was genetic (in my case). But the doctor told me that it would probably "fix" itself during pregnancy. WRONG! Most of my pain during pregnancy and labor was in my back. Same with my grandmother, mother and sister.

I just found out I have the same thing.  It's usually genetic.  Nothing bad necessarily, but a lot of times women who have a tipped uterus have a lot more back pain during their period and may experience a lot of back pain during pregnancy and especially during labor.  As far as the sites you found talking about being pregnant...it's probably because there's a lot of talk over whether it makes it harder to conceive or not.

It just means that your uterus is tipped way back. It is very common and most women do not even know theirs is like that.
