why havent i gotten my period?

i started getting my period when i was about 10 or 11 years old and im 16 now. it was always regular until about 2 years ago. i havent gotten it since may of 2009 and i am very worried. my birthday was in october and i spotted a little bit but that was it and it only lasted for about an hour. i have just gotten a doctors appointment and its coming up but i am worried about what they will tell me. can anyone give me advice on what it could be? thank you soo much

Most likely it is a hormonal imbalance and they will give you something to start your periods back up...

Because you're still young, it's very common for a young girls cycles to be out of whack and to not be regular, even if they have been before. Also as sweetpea said, it could be a hormonal imbalance which they can fix. Try not to worry about it. It's most likely nothing.
