How do you treat dry skin on and around the cervix?

Two weeks ago I had a reaction to always pads. It appeared to have given me a chemical burn (i now have no products I can use that don't cause a reaction). We have been trying to get pregnant so I do cervix checks. When I checked I noticed what appeared to be chunks of dry skin and not discharge. I took a monistat home test for a yeast infection and it came back normal. I am extremely uncomfortable and could really use some advice.
